“We are grateful for the opportunity to train and develop skills to be able to have a meaningful dialogue with management as we continue to navigate and maintain productivity and a new normality in the midst of the pandemic,”, said a shop steward participating in the Swedish Workplace Programme’s upskilling training for union representatives.
Currently the programme has 24 Swedish and local companies union representatives in Kenya and South Africa participating in a training according to the SWP approach.
The training is taking place in partnership with the management of the companies and aims at improving readiness and preconditions for a partnership driven workplaces by equipping participants with new tools and perspectives on cooperation.
The Union programme called UP, is set to become a generic SWP training module in 2022.
